Echoes of Happiness Concert

On Sunday, March 11th the wonderful Christian Singing Group "Echoes of Happiness" were back again to give a Sunday morning concert for the residents of Village Manor. Introducing some great new songs, as well as the performing the oldies but goodies, it was music to our ears.

Monday, March 19th: Trip to MJR Theater in Brighton for showing of "Act of Valor"

Friday, March 23rd: 12:30 "Contagion" movie at Hartland Sr. Center

Wednesday, March 28th: Happy Hour around Piano 3pm and trip to Greektown Casino 8:45am-5:00pm

Saturday, March 31st: "tom Sawyer" at Hartland Performing Arts Center 3:00pm

March Events!

Village Manor has another great month of events coming our way. Here are some things our residents and staff get to enjoy in March:

• Fridays is March will be celebrating the Easter Holiday. Every Friday will offer Stations of the Cross in the our library at 11:00am.


• Thursday, March 8th and 22nd Julie will be presenting Music Therapy at 11:00 am. This is a great and uplifting event.


• Friday, March 9th the residents will have a ball at our "March Madness" party at 2:45 pm.


• Saturday, March 17th celebrate St. Patrick's Day!


• Last but not least we have the return of the Traveling Farmers Market on Friday March 30th.

Piano Concert

On Saturday, February 25th the residents of Village Manor were entertained by the young Maxim Nikitin at his very first piano concert. The concert was presented by the Tutor Town Piano Studio and Lisa Snyder. The wonderful young musician played eight classical songs by such composers as Bach, Beethoven and Haydn.

Appalachian Trail!

The residents of Village Manor had the opportunity to take an adventure on our own Appalachian Trail constructed right on our second floor. This trail was set up by our wonderful Bobbie to help the residents stay active during the winter month.

There is a chart in the main lobby that keeps track of the residents that participate and how often they walked. It is our goal that the participants together can walk the actual length of the Appalachian Trail, 2,184 miles. For the closing ceremonies there will be a large celebration for all that participate.

Trip to Hawaii

On Thursday, February 9th the residents of Village Manor had the opportunity to take a trip to Hawaii... without even leaving the building. This fun event allowed the residents, with the help of Margaet Nagel from Metro to be snow birds for the day. With the cold weather finally catching up with us this was a perfect event to have.

Super Bowl Sunday!

On Sunday, February 5th the residents of Village Manor had another party to celebrate the Super Bowl. Who will win? Will the commercials be as great as last year? We are all excited to find out!

Breezing with Bobbie are new outings that will be taking place for the residents of Village Manor.

Some of the activities include:

Wednesday, February 1st- Trip to MJR Theater in Brighton to see the movie "Iron Lady."

Friday, Fedruary 3rd- Men's Coffee Group trip to Kahuna Coffee House.

Friday, February 10th- Lunch at the Olive Garden.

Friday, February 17th- Wine Tasting event at Howell's Mainstreet Winery.

Friday, February 24th- Trip to the Howell Opera House to see Bob Milne play jazz and ragtime music.

Sign ups are located on the windows outside the activity room.

Happy Groundhogs Day!

February 2nd is Groundhogs Day. Phil will leave his burrow at 7:20 at Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and observe the weather conditions. He will look for his shadow and make the prediction for the remainder of winter.
Will he see his shadow this year? The residents will be betting on the outcome Monday through Wednesday to win prizes the day of the big event.

January Birthdays!

On January 27th, Village Manor held a Birthday Party for all the residents who had birthdays in January. Everyone was entertained by Jack "Just Plain Fun" Bailey and enjoyed wonderful birthday cake. Yum!

On Monday, January 23rd, 2012 the Chinese will celebrate their New Year.

2012 is the year of the Dragon.

Celebrate MLK Day!

Celebrate MLK Day on Monday January 16th, 2012!
MLK day is the federal holiday marking the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The federal holiday was first observed in 1986, making 2012 the 26th anniversary of the King federal holiday.

Upcoming Music Concert!

On January 26th, 2012, the Hartland Senior Center will host a fundraising event for the music department. Join The Jarland Kay Trio and guest artist Harry Watters for an evening of fabulous live jazz music, dancing and refreshments. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at the Hartland Senior Center before 1/23/2012.

Hartland Basketball Team

Saturday, January 14th the residents of Village Manor had some very tall guest come and play cards and games. The boys from the Hartland Basketball Team were here playing bingo, euchre and much more. We are very thankful for their company.
